We are all dinos at the dino show

It's the second annual dino show, and the dinosaurs want to show off who is the best at doing dino stuff, but woe! Imposters have infiltrated the show. Can it be? Yes, it can. A group of scientists is PRETENDING to be dinosaurs so that they can study these majestic beasts.

The Pitch

You and up to 30 friends (but probably more like 6, let's be real) will secretly choose a dinosaur to pretend to be for the next 90 minutes. The catch? Some of you will only be pretending to be pretending to be dinosaurs. You'll actually be pretending to be scientists who are pretending to be dinosaurs.

Then you all do a bunch of dino stuff and vote on who is the most convincing dino. Is Alex bad because he's secretly a scientist and doesn't want to get first place? Or does he just not have a good iguanadon deep down inside?

The pitch but good

You and 4–8 friend will secretly choose dinosaurs. For the next 90 minutes, each of you will embody that dinosaur as you complete dinosaur-related tasks (culminating, of course, in the roar)! 

Between rounds, you will also take on the role of a pompous judge, criticizing the other contestants in the manner of a commentator at a dog show. Convincing and impressive dinosaurs will get points, and the player with the most points after 4 rounds wins.

But there's a catch! Some of you won't be playing dinosaurs at all! Rather, you'll be playing scientists who have disguised themselves as dinosaurs in order to enter the competition and study these prehistoric creatures. If a scientist gets 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place, DISASTER occurs, resulting in academic scandal. There will be no dino show next year, and everyone loses. 

BUT, if they play too poorly and get eliminated, the scientist also loses, unable to pen a paper that might be cited as many as three times. Alas! So scientists need to toe the line, dance on the academic razor's edge, and perform just well enough to avoid suspicious without catapulting to the upper ranks.

The real dinosaurs will be sussing out, sniffing and clawing at the air, looking for any imposters. They've got a tough task: the costumes are really good this year, hardly any visible seams.

I don't know enough about dinosaurs to play this game

Neither do we! Just make your best guess! If you're playing with dino kids, you'll learn something new.
