V 0.10 (Dash) released


Version 0.10 of Cyberrats in Space is out now. This is the last major content change of the book. From here on out, versions will primarily be changing flavor, tweaking mechanics, clarifying text, and balancing abilities. 

What changed

Major changes

    • Fuses! All armaments roll to blow a fuse. Look at the second highest die, needs to be above the fuse number. Fuse number starts at 1, increases with each upgrade. Roll20 sheet NOT  yet updated,
    • New downtime actions, including stargaze, experiment in the kitchen, and prepare for your inevitable demise,
    • Repair bay now has fast or cheap options,
    • Beatbox reworked Base thrum, new armament in PDC repeater,
    • Boomwagon fully rewworked tug and armaments (including for fuse changes above),
    • Frog 2 new armaments, clarified gobble,
    • Hotbox reworked and renamed some armaments. New munition, new armament.,
    • Leftovers. New tug, reworked armaments, new armament, new munition,
    • General armaents and munitions reworked (discharge (new), t-shirt sniper, aux cord, it all goes to the same place (formerly a boomwagon),
    • Astrid has 12 rooms, up from 10.,
    • New room, the body shop.,
    • Reworked several M shop powers.,

    Minor changes

    • Mech creation is now AFTER the first completed mission,
    • Sewage tank reworked (susbystem),
    • Removed Forage / survival Side Hustles.,
    • Clinic is now medbay,
    • Special Missions are now Side Hustles. These are explicitly called out as the best way to gain construction pieces, extra scrap, and unique upgrades and items. None are repeatable. Side hustles are more frequent.,
    • Flying / hovering clarified,
    • Rules for missions targeting multiple factions,
    • New relationship, psychic squadmates,
    • Added assistant rules, oops those were missing!,
    • Renamed some Hiver abilities,
    • New weapon (Swordgun),
    • 4 new items (judge's gavel, energy shield, corrugated net launcher, judge's robe),
    • Clarified replacing a mech,
    • New research, symphony of the sludge,
    • Reowrked some upgrades to comply with new fuse changes,
    • New manager advise for changing the game,
    • New environment tags, new mission type (escort),
    • Princess mech has stats,
    • Penetrating, energizing, impaired tags introduced,
  • Miniscule changes

    • Removed baseball diagram,
    • Clarifications about supermechs and conditions,
    • Clarified death and dying,
    • More flavor, more jokes,
    • Enemy tweaks, including dro tables. (swarm incorrect on roll20),
    • campaign spoiler changes,
    • Section on combinging with previous books reworked (in progress)

What's next

I can't say for sure what all the next version will entail, but there changes just missed the 0.10 cutoff:

* Roommate relationship will be fleshed out further 

* Side Hustles reworked, especially CAT and Mouse

* Enemy Balance (and new Space force enemy

* Weakened changed to work more like Screwed

* BeatBox has a new M shop captstone
