0.10 Released!


A new version is released, so let's talk about what changed, why we changed it, and what's likely to change next!

Submarine Changes!

In general, these serve to buff the submarine. We want this to be cool and exciting, not an albatross around players' necks.

  • Reinforced Hull: price changed from 4 to 3
  • Radar Lounge: operatives generate -5 awareness
  • Cost to repair a room changed from 2 Construction Pieces to 2 scrip (!)

Items, Upgrades and Tags

  • Bullrush and Magnetic now have costs (2 and 1, respectively)
  • New Item: The Conch This is a tactical item locked by research. It's basically a 1-round get out of jail free card, as it lets you summon a target dummy that enemies will attack instead of you.

Drones

Several protocols are being examined for the chopping block. We want to make sure the options here are exciting and different, and also not overwhelming. Expect more changes soon.

  • Brace: Previous "When you Taunt, you gain 1 Shard" new "The first time each round that an Operative taunts at least 1 creature, they may become Immobilized until the start of their turn. If they do, they gain 1 Shard." Cost also increased by 1. There are a few reasons for this change. First, balance, as the Leviathan can taunt many times per round. Second, flavor, with the immobilize serving both to tie the protocol together, as well as to ground it in power. Finally, most protocols affect all Operatives, and not just one, so we brought this in line with others. We're keeping an eye on this one.
  • Efficient Allocation, Embezzling, Painted Target all had cost reduced by 1. These are watched for chopping.
  • Sentry was rewritten for clarity. This gives the option of letting Operatives enter into an "overwatch" mode for free attacks outside of their turn.
  • Windshield wipers: changed from active to passive. This is very specific, and likely to be axed.

Misc

  • Depressurize power clarified to reduce infinite loops
  • Gnashing of Teeth power increased cost from 1 to 2 Biotech to prevent infinite loop of unlimited Biotech
  • Added new manager advice around downtime actions, clarified improvements from sparring. Sparring will likely have changes in the future
  • REMOVED EPITHETS!  they were more bookkeeping than they were worth. I like the idea of an achievement in the game, but this wasn't meeting my needs.
  • Added a new assistant to allow Operatives more control over the Clinic costs
  • Text clarifications throughout
  • Manager advice on heists and base defense missions, as well as quiet players
  • Renamed "Deadly" to "Noxious" (in tags). There was a naming collision with the base game.
  • Removed Insulated tag, too specific.
  • Added complete list of purchaseables
